A little handmade box inspired by the beautiful packaging once used for French sewing and embroidery threads.

This box has been constructed entirely by hand in the Pomme de Jour studio from vintage French card stock, and carries the wonderful old Coton à Broder Brillanté, À La Croix, Cartier-Bresson Paris design in rich red and soft ivory.

I particularly love the typography and ornate borders of this one, and the old Blanc 5205 label running along the side. It has all the character of an old French mercerie find, recreated as a small box for keeping treasures of your own.

Nothing began life as a ready-made box. From the box itself to the finished decorative surface, each one is individually made by me.

Perfect for embroidery threads, lace, buttons, ribbons, jewellery, sewing notions and little collected objects, or simply for displaying amongst vintage textiles and haberdashery.

As each box is individually handmade, there will be small variations in the folds, edges and finish. No two will be completely identical.
