A small one-of-a-kind piece from the studio, created using a Walter Crane illustration scanned from an original antique book in my collection.

The beautiful garden scene has been reproduced from the original image and used to cover the lid of a found vintage metal tin. A woman in a rich red dress pauses to smell a rose, surrounded by lilies, foliage and the wonderfully intricate detail so characteristic of Crane's work.

I love the contrast between the romantic old illustration and the timeworn little tin beneath it. The original surface, scratches, marks and signs of age have deliberately been retained, giving the finished piece a history that a new box simply couldn't have.

Perfect for keeping pins, buttons, tiny treasures, jewellery or little scraps collected along the way.

Each of my Studio Made pieces is individually made using old and found materials, so no two will ever be quite the same.
