French Pharmacy Label Needle Keep in a Vintage French Pastry Mould

French Pharmacy Label Needle Keep in a Vintage French Pastry Mould
A one-of-a-kind studio-made needle keep created from a vintage French metal pastry mould and an antique French pharmacy label, softly timeworn and wonderfully evocative of an old apothecary drawer.
At the centre is an original late nineteenth-century French pharmaceutical label design for Poudre des Trois, from a pharmacy in Perpignan, dated 1893. Its faded typography, handwritten script and old pharmacy details sit beautifully within the wonderfully worn, scalloped metal mould.
The mould itself has all the character I love in old working objects, with tarnishing, darkened areas, marks and traces of its former life left completely intact.
Designed as a small resting place for needles, pins and the tiny tools that gather around a sewing basket, it is both useful and decorative, and would sit beautifully amongst collections of antique haberdashery, textiles, old papers and found objects.
