A small vintage dressing-table box, reimagined in the Pomme de Jour studio.

I found this lovely little circular box with its original hinged mirror, beautifully aged metallic finish and rather wonderful floral-lined interior. The box itself had all the charm I look for, but its lid was waiting for something.

I have added a softly coloured period portrait to the top, chosen for its muted palette and slightly romantic, timeworn quality. Against the aged metal it feels as though she has always belonged there.

Lift the lid and the original mirror is revealed, with a delicate painted floral interior beneath. The box stands on three little ball feet, with a textured finish around the sides and concentric detailing to the base.

A completely unique piece, made using an original vintage object and intended to retain all of its age, wear and imperfections.

Perfect for keeping a favourite piece of jewellery, tiny keepsakes or simply sitting amongst other collected treasures on a dressing table.

Condition: The original vintage box shows genuine age and wear throughout, including tarnishing, marks, surface wear and imperfections to the metal. The mirror also shows signs of age. These have deliberately been retained as part of the character of the piece rather than restored away.
