A tiny Studio Made portrait box, created from an original vintage jewellery presentation box and a found historical image.

I have added the portrait to the lid of this wonderfully small old box, giving a once-simple jewellery box a completely new character. I particularly loved this sitter for her elaborate lace bonnet, rosy cheeks and slightly solemn expression.

The original box has been left otherwise as found. Turn it over and its age is still very much visible, with old paper, adhesive, wear and marks remaining on the base.

Perfect for holding a tiny treasure, ring, charm, button or keepsake, or simply as a little decorative object in its own right.

As with my other Studio Made pieces, the intention is not to disguise the age of the original object, but to bring together something old and something found to create something new.
