A set of four one-of-a-kind cards, handmade in my studio using original French ledger paper dating from 1829.

Each piece of antique paper has been cut from the original ledger, retaining its beautiful handwritten entries, numbers, marks, age toning and irregularities. I have paired the paper with four carefully sourced folk portrait images, chosen individually for their wonderful colour and character.

No two cards are quite alike, the handwriting and markings on the 1829 paper vary naturally from card to card.

The reverse has been left with a blank area for writing your own message, making these lovely to actually send, but equally beautiful kept as small pieces of paper art, pinned to an inspiration board or framed.
