Straight out of a nursery rhyme, this wonderfully timeworn metal ornament depicts the cow jumping over the moon, complete with stars and a tiny house nestled beneath.

Made from painted metal, it has aged beautifully. The original cream, black, green and ochre colours are still visible beneath a wonderfully mottled surface of rust, wear and fading. The cow stretches across the sleepy crescent moon, while little metal stars rise behind, giving the whole piece a slightly surreal folk art quality.

The reverse is just as appealing, dark, heavily oxidised and wonderfully untouched. This is very much a piece for someone who loves things showing every bit of their age rather than restored to perfection.

It stands on its original curved metal base and would look fabulous amongst old toys, folk art, faded textiles or a collection of curious and imperfect objects or use as a door stop.

I have left it exactly as found, in all its rusty glory.

Condition: Heavily timeworn with extensive surface rust, oxidation, paint loss, fading, scratches and general wear throughout. The metal and painted surface have considerable age-related deterioration, all clearly shown in the photographs and very much part of the character of the piece.
