Old Painted Hen

Old Painted Hen
A wonderfully simple old ceramic hen, with a softly worn white-painted surface and just a few hand-painted details remaining.
She has a beautifully primitive shape, with a rounded body, tall tail and wonderfully characterful head. The original dark painted markings are still visible around the beak, head, breast and wing, although much of the decoration has faded and worn away over time.
The surface is really what makes her. There are knocks, scuffs, marks, areas of paint loss and general wear throughout, giving her the slightly battered, timeworn appearance I love. The underside is hollow.
I haven't attempted to restore or repaint her and she will be sent exactly as found.
A lovely piece of old folk-style decoration, perfect sitting amongst antique textiles, old kitchenalia or a collection of wonderfully imperfect objects.
Measurements: approximately 17 cm long × 12 cm high × 8 cm wide.
Condition: Plenty of age and wear, including rubbed and missing paint, marks, scuffs and surface imperfections throughout. Please study the photographs carefully as these form part of the description.
