A beautifully decorative vintage serving tray with an elaborate pierced border, engraved centre and three little ball feet.

The tray has a wonderfully old-world feel, with its deep scrolling foliate border framing a softly engraved central design. Time has given the metal a lovely mellowed surface, with areas of tarnish, rubbing and darkening that pick out the decoration particularly well.

Raised slightly on three rounded feet, it has more presence than a simple flat tray and works beautifully as a small table centrepiece. I particularly like it used to gather together favourite objects, antique perfume bottles, candles, jewellery or seasonal finds.

The surface has been left exactly as found rather than polished back to brightness. There is visible tarnishing, marking, surface wear and variation to the finish throughout, all part of its vintage character.

A lovely decorative piece for anyone drawn to faded grandeur, old silver tones and useful objects that have acquired a little history.
