Vintage Spanish Madonna Wall Plaque – Montfalcon Barcelona – Painted Chalkware Icon

Vintage Spanish Madonna Wall Plaque – Montfalcon Barcelona – Painted Chalkware Icon
A tender vintage Madonna bust plaque with serene expression, from Barcelona’s Montfalcon workshops. Worn in places but still deeply radiant — a devotional piece full of quiet beauty.
This mid-century Spanish wall plaque depicts the Madonna in repose, hands crossed over her chest, head gently tilted, eyes lowered. Cast in chalkware or composite plaster and painted by hand, the surface is delicately rendered, with softly shaded features, flowing blonde curls, and a silvery veil with raised textural detail.
Made by MontFalcon in Barcelona, a well-known Spanish atelier for moulded icons and devotional pieces, as marked on the reverse with their original paper label. A built-in loop is attached for hanging, and the back is painted in a soft pink tone.
Timeworn throughout with multiple areas of paint loss, particularly to the base, veil edges, and hands. There is a small hole in the veil, likely from an old impact or casting flaw. Minor surface cracking at the base. Hanging loop intact and plaque remains structurally sound. Please see all photos.
Ideal for wall display in a sacred space, vintage vignette, or contemplative corner.
