1970's Indian Block Print Textile Panel – Floral Palampore Style

1970's Indian Block Print Textile Panel – Floral Palampore Style
Evocative of vintage bazaars and bohemian bedrooms, this richly patterned fragment brings colour and soul to any creative corner. Loved and timeworn, with a story in every fade and flaw.
A striking mid-century Indian cotton panel in palampore style, featuring intricate floral motifs in soft blue, cream and raspberry red. The layout includes a wide central field of stylised blooms framed by layered scrolling floral borders, echoing the aesthetics of earlier sarasa and chintz textiles. Printed on lightweight cotton, this piece is beautifully faded in places with three visible holes and signs of age throughout.
Originally made in the 1970’s for the home décor market, it now makes a wonderful decorative remnant—perfect for framing, textile collaging or simply folding into a styling vignette.
Repurposing Ideas:
A lovely length for visual storytelling or slow-making projects. Use as a feature panel in a stitched journal or textile collage, layer it behind antique portraits, or edge it with lace for a boho banner or mini wall hanging. The central florals also lend themselves beautifully to découpage, patchwork or framing small fragments individually.
