Damaged Vintage Tuck’s Birthday Card – Oilette-Style Glamour Swing Girl

Damaged Vintage Tuck’s Birthday Card – Oilette-Style Glamour Swing Girl
A painterly mid-century Tuck card in the spirit of their classic Oilette series — a dramatic swing scene with rich colour and charm. Water-stained but still full of theatrical presence.
This vintage greeting card by Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd. features a romantic swing scene, a blonde glamour girl in a voluminous blue gown suspended mid-motion, with dark theatrical background and trailing ribbons. Printed in richly textured colour, the style echoes Tuck’s earlier Oilette series, known for its fine art reproductions and chalky pigment effect.
Marked “A Tuck Card” and printed in England under royal warrant, this example likely dates to the 1940’s or early 50’s. It’s a fold-out format, with the interior blank aside from the publisher details.
Please note: this card is visibly damaged, with heavy water staining, discolouration and rippling to the inner fold and reverse. The front artwork remains striking and clear, though with some surface scuffing. A well-loved survivor, not for perfectionists, but still full of mood and visual impact.
Approx 13.8 cm x 8.9 cm [5.4 x 3.5 in] when folded
Water-damaged, with staining, warping, and some paper lifting. Structurally sound and complete. No envelope. Front design largely unaffected.
