A soulful, timeworn fragment with a commanding presence. This sculptural horse head is rough-hewn, softened by age, and mottled in hues of blue-grey, green, and ochre. It appears to be made from plaster or a similar composite material and is now mounted on a simple wooden block that complements its rustic form.

Its surface is deeply textured with traces of pinkish pigment and scattered pits and fissures, hinting at long-lost layers and former finishes. From one angle, the profile feels classically equine, even noble, from another, nearly abstract, inviting the viewer to fill in the story.
