Antique Verre Églomisé Silhouette Portraits, Pair of Convex Framed Miniatures, French Style, c.1900

Antique Verre Églomisé Silhouette Portraits, Pair of Convex Framed Miniatures, French Style, c.1900
A charming pair of antique verre églomisé silhouette portraits, each depicting an elegant profile, one of a gentleman and the other of a lady, beautifully presented beneath convex glass within deep black circular frames.
Executed in the traditional verre églomisé technique, the reverse-painted glass combines finely detailed gilt highlights with hand-painted hair, creating striking contrast against the black silhouettes. Together they make a wonderfully decorative pair, equally suited to a period interior, gallery wall or cabinet of curiosities.
Their simple ebonised frames complement the portraits beautifully, while the aged paper backs and original hanging rings speak to their early 20th century origins.
Sold together as a matching pair.
Measurements (each)
Diameter: 10.5 cm

Condition Good antique condition with age-related wear, including mellow toning to the paper and light wear to the frames consistent with age. The original paper backs and hanging rings remain in place. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
A delightful decorative pair for collectors of silhouette portraits, verre églomisé, French-inspired interiors and antique wall décor.
