A beautiful survivor from the early 20th century, this antique postcard album is filled with embossed floral, birthday and Christmas cards dating from the Edwardian era through the 1930s. The cover is bound in grey-green cloth with a red poppy motif and gilt lettering reading “Post Cards.” It shows surface wear, scuffed corners and a slight bend to the boards, but remains intact with its original string binding.

Inside the album you’ll find

• Embossed floral and greeting cards on satin and silk-finish stock, many with raised gilt lettering, ribbon ties and decorative detail.

• Sentimental designs including pansies, roses, carnations, scenic vignettes, ships, bells, and windmills.

• Birthday greetings such as “To My Dearest Daughter” and “Best Birthday Wishes.”

• Seasonal cards including Christmas designs with holly, bells and Santa Claus. One lively 1930s card shows Santa with toys and nursery characters.

• At least one Agnes Richardson illustrated postcard tucked inside with her distinctive whimsical figures.

• A mix of printed and lightly hand-finished designs, offering a full spectrum of greetings culture from the period.

Condition

The album is worn with some detached or loose pages, age toning and corner wear as expected of items 90–120 years old. Cards vary in condition, some bright and fresh, others showing light creases, foxing or handling marks. Overall they are well preserved and display beautifully.
