Vintage 1930s Seaside Family Photograph

Vintage 1930s Seaside Family Photograph
A wonderfully timeworn original photograph capturing an ordinary family day at the seaside.
A man sits back in his deckchair beside a woman holding a little girl, with a bucket and spade abandoned in the sand at their feet. Behind them, the beach is busy with other holidaymakers, giving the photograph that lovely accidental detail found in old snapshots.
It is the condition that makes this one particularly appealing to me. The photograph has clearly been kept and handled over many years, with a horizontal crease running across the image, softened corners, marks, fading and small areas of surface wear. Rather than diminishing it, these traces seem to have become part of the photograph and its unknown history.
An original photograph rather than a reproduction, and a lovely little piece of British social history for a collection of vernacular photography, found ephemera or old family photographs.
Date: c.1930s
Condition: Heavily timeworn with fading, creasing, marks, surface wear, staining and a pronounced horizontal crease/tear across the image. Please study the photographs carefully as the condition is very much part of its character.
