Antique Textile & Key Curiosity Bottle, Found Object Assemblage

Antique Textile & Key Curiosity Bottle, Found Object Assemblage
A tiny assemblage made entirely from antique fragments, gathered together and preserved beneath glass.
Inside this little corked bottle sits a collection of timeworn antique textile pieces, including delicate cream lace and crochet, with a tiny faded pink embroidered detail peeping through. The softness and fragility of the old cloth is contrasted by an antique metal key, suspended from a dark metal ring at the neck of the bottle.
A narrow length of antique lace has been loosely tied around the neck, deliberately left with its frayed edges and signs of age intact.
There is something rather touching about these tiny remnants. None is particularly important on its own, but together they become a small record of things once used, handled and kept.
Created in the Pomme de Jour studio entirely from antique and found materials. Nothing has been artificially aged, and all wear, fading, tarnishing, marks and irregularities belong to the history of the individual pieces.
Height: approximately 6 cm
