1960s customised French moleskin chore coat with sashiko
This one-of-a-kind vintage French moleskin chore jacket has been beautifully restored and customised with hand-stitched sashiko embroidery, antique French ticking patches, and visible mending. Made in France by Adolphe Lafont, it retains its original workwear silhouette while carrying new layers of textile history and artistry.
The jacket features a soft, faded indigo tone with visible repair work, antique fabric accents, and vintage buttons chosen to complement its patina. Each detail speaks to its journey, making it both a wearable garment and a collector’s piece.
Custom stitched by textile artist Woo Aherne exclusively for Pomme de Jour, every patch was sourced from vintage scraps to highlight the garment’s history while celebrating sustainability and slow fashion. A true testament to reuse and reinvention, it honours French workwear heritage and repair traditions.
