Antique Timeworn Berry/Fruit Drainer

Antique Timeworn Berry/Fruit Drainer
A beautiful timeworn example of traditional Provençal pottery — this hand-thrown jaspé glazed gresal bowl dates to the 1930's and showcases rich dark olive green glaze over rustic terracotta clay. Originally used as a fruit drainer or cherry bowl, its wide open form and drainage holes made it ideal for rinsing and displaying produce.
Made in the Provence region of France, the bowl features the telltale swirl and brushstroke glazing known as jaspé, now partially worn through decades of honest use. Its unglazed base and subtle imperfections highlight its handcrafted origins, with a lovely aged patina that adds to its decorative appeal.
Perfect for:
– Displaying lemons or seasonal fruit
– Styling rustic or French farmhouse interiors
– Using as a sculptural centrepiece or still life prop
Measurements: 28 cm diameter x 14 cm height
Material: Terracotta with jaspé glaze

Add a touch of vintage Provençal charm to your kitchen or home with this one-of-a-kind piece.
