A little piece of Christmas past, ready to print and use again.

These printable gift tags have been created from an original antique “Christmas Past and Present” card from my own collection, carefully scanned to preserve its wonderfully eccentric illustration, decorative border and softly aged colours.

The wonderfully eccentric illustration depicts Christmas Past and Present — an old-fashioned Father Christmas looking on as a figure representing the changing Christmas runs away with the pudding, accompanied by a flying bird carrying a letter. Across the bottom is the traditional greeting, “A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

The download contains an A4 sheet of 15 gift tags, ready to print at home. Simply cut them out, punch a small hole and add your choice of ribbon, string or twine.

I love them tied onto parcels wrapped simply in old-fashioned brown or handmade paper, but they could equally be used for Christmas cards, journals, scrapbooking, collage and other paper projects.

The photographs show one of the printed tags tied with burgundy ribbon to an old paper-wrapped book as an example of how they can be used. The book, ribbon, string and other props are not included.
