Vintage 1962 Coningsby Paperback by Benjamin Disraeli (Copy)

Vintage 1962 Coningsby Paperback by Benjamin Disraeli (Copy)
A wonderfully atmospheric 1962 edition of Coningsby with one of the most striking mid-century paperback covers I’ve come across, all smoky purples, wrought iron silhouettes, and Regency intrigue.
Published by Signet Classics, this vintage paperback has a distinctly gothic, mod-Victoriana feel, with cover artwork that feels somewhere between literary classic and 1960s Hammer Horror poster design.
Written by Benjamin Disraeli, Coningsby explores politics, society, ambition, and power in early Victorian England, but this particular copy also works beautifully as a decorative object for dark academia interiors, vintage libraries, or moody bookshelf styling.
This is a well-loved vintage copy dating from 1962 and shows age and wear throughout. The binding has weakened internally and the reader will need to handle the book with care while reading. There is visible splitting to the inner hinges, edge wear to the cover, and general signs of age and use consistent with a frequently read mid-century paperback. Despite this, the book remains complete and visually very appealing.
A lovely piece for:
dark academia shelves
vintage paperback collections
gothic interior styling
Regency and Victorian literature lovers
collectors of mid-century book cover design
Condition
Vintage condition with visible wear and weakening to the binding. Internal hinges are split and the book should be handled carefully while reading. General edge wear, age toning, and signs of use throughout.
